The Bible Lives, Mike Riley

From the Montana Street bulletin comes the following article by an unknown author. I’ve added appropriate Scriptures and links for reference purposes.

  • Kings, dictators, presidents come and go — and yet the Bible lives (Acts 12:20-24).

Yet it lives — as a lamp unto our feet (Psalm 119:105).
Yet it lives — as a light to our path (Psalm 119:105).
Yet it lives — as the gate to heaven (Revelation 22:14).
Yet it lives — as a standard for childhood (Proverbs 22:6; Ecclesiastes 12:1; 2 Timothy 3:15).
Yet it lives — as a guide for our youth (Proverbs 3:1-6).
Yet it lives — as an inspiration for the matured (Titus 2:1-3).
Yet it lives — as a comfort for the aged (2 Corinthians 1:3-4).
Yet it lives — as food for the hungry (Matthew 4:4).
Yet it lives — as water for the thirsty (Matthew 5:6).
Yet it lives — as rest for the weary (Matthew 11:28).
Yet it lives — a light for the heathen (Acts 13:47; Acts 26:23; cf. Isaiah 49:5-6; Isaiah 60:1-3).
Yet it lives — as salvation for the sinner (Romans 1:16; 1 Corinthians 1:18).
Yet it lives — as grace for the Christian (John 1:17; Ephesians 2:1-8).

To know the Bible is to love it (Psalm 119:159).
To love the Bible is to accept it (1 Thessalonians 2:13).
To accept it means life eternal (John 12:25; John
