I have heard some comments on the news and have noticed information on the internet about the end of the world which is supposed to happen this month (Dec. 2012). The world may end this month, or this day, but it won’t end because of some prediction of man! The world will end when God determines it will end. The Bible has a clear-cut answer on this issue (as well as any other issue man can present).
Concerning the end of time with the return of Christ, Jesus says, “But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only” (Mt. 24:36). When one reads Mt. 24, and rightly divides what is taught there, he will find that no man knows when Christ will return. The Bible says it; that settles it! How many man hours have been spent on trying to determine when Christ will return?
The only profitable way for us to use our time is to use it preparing for Christ’s return and the Day of Judgment.
Please read the following scriptures – 2 Pet. 3:10-12; 2 Th. 1:6-9; Heb. 9:27; Acts 17:30-31; 2 Cor. 5:10; 2 Tim. 4:1.
If you are not a Christian the New Testament teaches that you need to hear the gospel (Rom. 10:17; Mt. 7:24-25); Believe the gospel (Faith in God and Christ) (Heb. 11:6: Jn. 20:30-31); Repent of your sins (Lk. 13:3; Acts 2:38); Confess your faith in Christ as the Son of God (Rom. 10:9-10; Acts 8:37); Be baptized for the remission of past sins (Acts 2:38; Mk. 16:16; Acts 22:16).
As Christians, we must live faithfully (Rev. 2:10; Mt. 10:22; 1 Cor. 15:58).
If you have been unfaithful as a Christian, you must return to God – repentance, confession of sins, with prayer to God for forgiveness. Then continue living a faithful Christian life.
Remember, “But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only” (Mt. 24:36).
