How do we make sure that we are among the few who are saved and not among the many who are lost (Matthew 7:13-14)?  Jesus says in Matthew 7:21-23, “Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my Father in heaven.  Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, and cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?  And then will I declare to them, I never knew you, depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness”.  If we believe and call Jesus, “Lord, Lord”, we are still lost if we have not done God’s will. The Formula For Victory, By David R. Pharr

The theme of Revelation is victory. To each of the seven churches there is a special promise to “him that overcometh“. For example, “To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God” (2:7). Satan’s attacks may be through persecutions, temptations, false doctrines, discouragements, or lukewarmness. Only by overcoming these things can we enjoy the heavenly city (21:27). Living Where You Do Not Belong

In Jesus’ prayer to the Father in John 17, He states that His disciples are not of this world, just as He is not of this world. How can that be? Were we not born in this world? Of course we were. But, we have been called out of this world (2 Cor. 6:17, 1 Pet. 1:13-15), and we have been purchased with the precious blood of Jesus (Acts 20:28; 1 Pet. 1:18.19).
