Living Where You Do Not Belong

In Jesus’ prayer to the Father in John 17, He states that His disciples are not of this world, just as He is not of this world. How can that be? Were we not born in this world? Of course we were. But, we have been called out of this world (2 Cor. 6:17, 1 Pet. 1:13-15), and we have been purchased with the precious blood of Jesus (Acts 20:28; 1 Pet. 1:18.19). How Beautiful Heaven Must Be

What does God look like? Can anyone answer this question?  I John 3 says “When He appears we will be like Him, for we will see Him as He is.”  The implication is that we cannot see God as He is because we are mortal and He is eternal.  It is only when we shed this earthly body for an eternal body that we will be able to see and to contemplate God.
