Our Lord’s Warning by Ron Boatright

     Christ, who is all knowing, tells us that many people are going to be lost in eternity.  In Matthew 7:13-14 He says, “Enter by the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.  Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it“.  According to the Bible the majority of people will be lost.  We must take this warning seriously.  The Lord says that only a few people will be saved. This past Sunday evening I heard a moving sermon on “The Horrors of Hell.” We don’t hear sermons on hell much anymore these days.

One preacher among us used to preach a powerful sermon titled, “What Is Hell Like?” In his autobiography a few years ago, he confessed that he had not preached the sermon in 25 years and no longer believed what he had previously preached about hell. Continue reading

Many times we hear people today say, “We are all headed for the same place, we are just going in different ways”.  In a sense this is true in that we are all headed first to the Judgment.  The Bible says, “And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment.”  And Romans 14:10 says, “For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ”.
