Why did God not just give us some commands to g by like the 10 commandments so that we would know if we were doing his will?

God, in his infinite wisdom (Isaiah 55:8-9), wrote the Bible as he saw fit. What men often think is too difficult and makes no sense at all, makes perfect sense when “rightly divided.” The Bible “fits like a glove” when handled correctly. Every part of it matches with every other part. There are no contradictions. Man is the author of confusion, not God (1 Corinthians 14:33). The Authority Of God’S Word, by Ron Boatwright

     The Bible is the authoritative word of God. Hebrews 4:12 says, “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword.”  When God says something it is going to happen.  Nothing can stop it.  Not only is the word of God living and powerful, but it will last forever.  1 Peter 1:23 says, “the word of God lives and abides forever.”  The word of God will follow us into eternity.      There have been many attacks on the Bible down through the ages because the Bible condemns too much of what men love to do.  Without the Bible one can do virtually anything he wants to do.  Man wants to live as he pleases without being accountable to God.  Many want to live as though there is no God.  Psalms 14:1 says, “The fool has said in his heart, ‘There is no God’”.
