The Same Seed, the Same Plant

The seed is the Word of God (Lk. 8:11). It makes no difference how long that seed may have been stored. If it came from a crop of a thousand years ago and has been preserved, wherever and whenever it may chance to be planted, regardless of who does the sowing, it will produce the original fruit. God made it a law of nature that the earth would bring forth the “herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind” (Gen. 1 & 2). In the parable of the Sower, Jesus said the seed which was sown was the Word of God (Luke 8:11). He talked about the kinds of soil (hearts) in which the seed could not function.
